Can I Get a Witness?
A Storytelling and Witnessing Experience
Lesson Info
Can I Get a Witness? is a facilitated storytelling experience that explores the often-overlooked role of the listener. While most storytelling spaces focus on how we tell stories, this gathering shifts attention to how we receive them. What does it mean to truly hear someone? And how does a story—or the storyteller—change when it is fully witnessed? Through guided exercises and group reflection, participants will explore the difference between listening and witnessing, and develop the ability to be more present, attentive, and grounded in both roles. This is not a space for performance or pressure. Participants are invited to engage at their own pace, sharing only what feels comfortable, while building confidence in their ability to both tell their stories and hold space for others. The experience is designed to foster deeper connection, strengthen relational awareness, and offer a meaningful opportunity to feel both seen and heard.
